From Winter to Spring: Transition Colors for the Inbetween

From Winter to Spring: Transition Colors for the Inbetween

Spring Is Right Around the Corner

Winter’s been doing the most, and honestly, we’re ready for a shift. More light. More color. More “wow, the sky actually looks pretty again.”

Spring is almost here, and pops of color are exactly what the doctor ordered.

This is that moment where everything starts to feel possible again. You don’t have to go full neon yet, but you also don’t need to keep things muted and sleepy. We’re warming up. We’re getting excited. We’re letting color back in.

So What Are Transition Colors, Really?

They’re not about playing it safe. They’re about embracing change.

Transition shades bridge the gap between winter and spring without draining the joy out of it. Softer tones, warmer energy, finishes that catch the light. Think sunrise and sunset colors, not grey skies.

You’re not toning it down. You’re tuning it in.

Start With Color You’re Excited About

If it feels heavy and flat, it might be ready for a break.
If it feels bright and happy but not screaming summer, you’re on the right track.

Wine reds, warm rusts, dusty blues, glowing pinks. Colors that still feel grounded but have some life to them. If it makes you smile when you look at it in the bottle, that’s the one.

Pastels Are Waking Up

Pastels don’t have to be shy.

This is where slightly sheer, softly glowing pastels really shine. Light, airy, and full of promise. Not candy-bright yet, but absolutely not dull.

Sybil fits right here. Soft pink, easy energy, looks good with literally everything.

Want something with a little more punch? PhotosntheSLAY and Amy both bring color without going full spring explosion. Bright enough to feel fresh, calm enough to wear right now.

Let Finishes Do Their Thing

This is where the fun really starts.

Shimmer, magnetic, holo, glow. Finishes are what take a color from “nice” to “oh hell yeah.” You don’t need to hold back. Just be intentional.

Flakes can absolutely work here. Just a little extra shows how flakes can add excitement without stealing the whole show.

Shimmers are a spring favorite for a reason. They move, they catch the light, they feel alive. Soft Swap is a perfect example. Warm, dimensional, and full of energy without tipping into summer.

Big Green Bow is all about mica glow without the noise. Soft sparkle, quiet magic, and a finish that feels special without trying too hard.

The Vibe Check

This season isn’t about restraint. It’s about getting excited again.

More color. More glow. More experimenting. If a shade feels like sunrise instead of overcast, you’re doing it right.

Spring is coming. Let your nails know.

Stay LOUD,
Cassi
