International Shipping, Customs & Duties Policy

When you place an order with us and choose international shipping, please read the following so you know what to expect regarding duties, taxes, customs clearance, delivery time, and carrier options.

We ship to many international destinations. The information below applies to all international orders, with additional carrier details specific to the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada, which are the only countries where UPS is currently offered.

Customs, Duties & Import Taxes (All Countries)

Your order may be subject to customs duties, taxes, import fees, VAT/GST, or other charges imposed by your country’s government.
These fees are not included in your order total and must be paid by you (the recipient) before delivery. Customs agencies determine these charges based on the declared value of the goods, shipping costs, and local import regulations.

Even if you choose the most affordable shipping option, these charges are separate and outside of our control.

Country-Specific Customs Information

The following country notes apply to United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada. For all other international destinations, similar customs rules apply based on local regulations.

United Kingdom (UK)

UK customers are typically charged Value Added Tax (VAT) on imported goods. Duties may also apply depending on the product type; there is no guarantee items under a certain value are duty-free — VAT still applies. These charges are collected by UK Customs/Royal Mail or the carrier handling the delivery. You are responsible for paying any VAT, duties, or customs charges before your package is released. (This applies to goods shipped from the United States into the UK.)

Australia

Most orders shipped to Australia are subject to Goods and Services Tax (GST) upon import. Under trade agreements, many goods may be duty-free, but GST (10%) usually still applies. You are responsible for any GST, duties, customs clearance costs, or charges assessed by the Australian Border Force.

Canada

Canada applies GST/HST/PST on imported goods over a minimum value. Duty may also apply, though some shipments fall under preferential trade rules. In addition to government tax, the delivery provider may charge a clearance/brokerage fee to process the shipment at customs. You are responsible for all taxes, duties, and brokerage/handling fees required for customs clearance.

Choosing a Carrier: USPS vs. UPS

We ship internationally using USPS to many countries worldwide. UPS is currently offered only for shipments to the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada. You’ll see available carrier options at checkout based on your destination and package size.

USPS (Postal Service)

Best for: Smaller parcels and lower overall cost.

-Generally lower postage costs for lightweight packages

-Usually no carrier brokerage fee charged by USPS — recipients pay only the government-assessed duties/taxes on delivery

-Delivered internationally by the destination country’s postal service (e.g., Royal Mail, Canada Post)

Typical USPS international delivery times:
Standard International (First-Class or Priority): ~7–21 days depending on destination and service chosen.

Customs & Fees:
Customs duties and taxes still apply, but USPS does not typically add a brokerage fee to collect them.

UPS (Private Courier)

(Available only for the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada)

Best for: Faster and more predictable delivery, heavier or larger packages.

-Generally more expensive postage than USPS, especially for small/light packages

-Offers express and expedited services with more reliable tracking and delivery windows

-UPS usually charges a brokerage/clearance fee for handling customs formalities, in addition to government duties and taxes

-Brokerage fees vary and are collected by UPS from the recipient prior to delivery

Typical UPS international delivery times:
Express/Expedited: ~1–5 business days to many destinations
Standard/Expedited: Timing depends on service level and country

Customs & Fees:
Duties and taxes are assessed by customs and must be paid by the customer. UPS may also add a brokerage fee to process those charges.

Carrier Brokerage Disclaimer

USPS shipments are delivered by the destination country’s postal service and typically do not include carrier brokerage fees.
UPS shipments may include additional brokerage, clearance, or handling charges collected at delivery.

These fees are set by the carrier, vary by destination and shipment, & are outside of our control.

Delivery Expectations

Delivery timeframes vary by carrier, service level, customs processing, and destination country. Customs clearance can extend delivery beyond the carrier’s estimated transit time.

All international shipments require a customs declaration form that lists item details and value. Inaccurate or incomplete forms may delay delivery or incur extra fees.
